The more reason to hate Canon...
Hate is harsh, Dislike is much better...
Okay okay, take it easy people or trolls out there, i dont hate Canon, i used to shoot Canon. in fact i still have my Canon DSLR. but its just ....
Haha
i seriously wished Canon would join the bandwagon but maybe they hate old school boxy vintage cameras. Maybe they were ashamed of their retro designs. i know i know its not everybody cup of tea but hey its mine.
i'm a purely camera aesthetic guy.
Aesthetic first. Quality second.
Gasp!
Uh Oh.... Did i just bought the Olympus OMD EM10?
object of my desire
That was a terrible GAS. Poisoned i must say. That salesman really kill it. I almost walked away without it but in the end i lost the battle of my desire, GAS won, indefinitely....if that makes any sense. So here i am with OMD EM10 in my bag. happily ever after.
i went. i hit. and i score.
So the story goes....
the timing was right. i went to Singapore after claiming a free ticket and during my stay Olympus singapore is having a promotion at Vivo City, yes, u guess it right, the omd em10 promo. Okay, i'm just gonna stop by and have a look, peep through the viewfinder, take snapshots bla bla bla or so i thought. By this time im already having a bad GAS. so Bad that i had to walked away. but it also got me thinking. my GAS juices are flowing in my head in my brain. Ya know, good things about the omd, there's never a bad thing in GAS.
Olympus promotion. Olympus should give that guy a raise/commission (top right corner, black shirt olympus guy)
He sold it. Poisoned me. GAHH!
i'm having GAS and he was like adding fuel to my GAS fire.lol
i had to walked away. i felt like i was cheating on Fujis. i am in love with my Fuji X100S and upcoming Xpro1 (GAS alert)!! i meant my X-M1. but then i also liked Olympus. if you followed my blog back then i posted about choosing Scarlett Johannson or Blake Lively. i chose AND... this is the same thing. Fuji and Olympus.
i took the brochure and walked away. i had to do some thinking. i went to Carl's Junior and had a burger with a brochure to read. GAS needs food i guess.
By this time i said to myself "I sleep over it and come back tomorrow if i want it"
Head myself to the MRT, i'm really close to entering the MRT site but a coffee shop is nearby, damn, i need to do some more thinking.
i had tea. by this time i'm having a difficult time of choosing color. do i want it in black or do i want it in silver? i love how the silver look, retro, old school but i knew over time i got bored of it. the black looks elegant and sexy and black never bores.... but im choosing 80% black over silver because of that what-his-face-salesguy. he recommends me to get the black. He said it also look better with the hand grip which he showed to me and let me feel it. it was great i have to say. He also let me test the stabilisation system, the 3 axis stabilizer....
Stand on Fitness Machine. i can feel that my love handles shaking so much. and the picture of the pot was quite sharp. i didnt have the picture. The video didnt shake that much but wobbly but i think the stabilizer did a good job.
by the time i had finished my tea, i made a pact to buy it now and get the black.
And so i left Vivo City with a black OMD EM10.
Nothing better than to finish a good day with a great meal.
All shots above taken with X100S.

Experience the OMD EM10 in Singapore
Uh Oh!
Great timing isnt it?
I'm heading down to Singapore tomorrow and guess who's making an event launch?
My GAS-able OMD EM10 of course!
Cute timing.
Now what?
Fuji X-M1 Remote Shutter RR90..... the cheap one!
Which one would you rather buy?
the original Fuji RR90? (which cost about usd$80)
or
JJC Remote Shutter (replaces RR90)? which is only usd$10 on fleabay.
And the JJC works like a charm...
i've tried bulb mode and it works... pretty useful for those long exposures photography or night photography.. gotta get my ass out of my couch to test that one. but all in all this JJC works as intended. The downside maybe its just a little too short for full bodied selfies, not little but a lot short haha.
i have nothing against Fuji accessories except that it is expensive, and i'm a working class citizen, hard earned cold cash... i'd rather buy the cheap one as long as it is working.
But that is just me...

My type of photography
i like to capture moments. i am never a photo manipulist/manipulator, i'm just too lazy to do that. i'd like to take as little as much time in post process. i also dont do art photography but am always interested. i also like to do portraits. i love fashion/editorial style photography. Must be the beautiful models. i've done a few weddings, just my close in-laws and friends but mostly i did was just snapping away. i think i like documentary, journalism, reporting style of photography. thats why i am also interested in street photography although i am very much afraid of shooting strangers. i am also socially retarded hahah... i've never been so good at shaking hands, i'll just nod - Julian Casablancas . Same here Julian. Word!
This is as close i can get to street photography... its probably not even street photography, more like travel... this is cheating too cos its a tourist destination so i can just snap away unlike street photographers who are like ninjas!
But i love just snapping away. i guess less post process too. thats why i love candid photos. moments. i think i suck at landscapes. maybe i suck at everything. because i dont really care of getting awards. its not an olympic but for some maybe it is. i take photos for pleasure. i'm trying to improve my photography but i also worry a lot on gears, which is not helpful and not good. i should worry about my next photo not gears. i have an X100S. an already great camera. now i just need to shoot. but no.... right now im thinking of getting the X-pro1 or/and the omd em10. i just love gadgets or maybe i love spending. but my wallet is getting thin. Sucks for having GAS.
I am also not a 100% most of the time pixel peeing...haha pixel peeping. occasionally i do but only to check out noise. i love what Fuji's Jpeg is getting at iso6400. but i would like to use a lower ISO for clean sharp images. i also shoot jpgs. Fuji jpg is for me the greatest. I think the OMDs look a bit digital but i still want it. But i just found out Damian McGillicuddy. He use OMD. It didnt look digital. Maybe its just the photographer. OH well.. here i am rambling again.
i rarely shot RAW. i'm quite worry about the big file size. but i worry too much. i worry on everything. JPG is a good 10Mb but RAW files they can go up to 40Mb. Ouch. i need space. i need hard drives. more money spend. i shoot RAW when i think i need to do a bit more on post processing. SO far i shoot RAW on landscapes, JPGs on occasional snapping away. But sometimes i find the JPG from Fuji still got details for editing purposes and good OOC too!
RAW convert to JPG
i use lightroom and i love VSCO. i love film look. i do get spoil by VSCO by turning every shots into VSCO look. it is also hard to type on the keyboard with long fingernails, like i do now. anyway, VSCO is the best. i've used Alien Skin before but i still havent found what im looking for - U2. until i found VSCO that is. my workflow gets easier and quicker. just find a suitable preset and boom. done. but i get obsess of trying every presets to every picture i took. VSCO TO DEATH! sickness.
VSCO that sh*t
VSCO that sh*t too!
i love how VSCO play around with the greens. gave that film look.
i used to use photoshop vsco actions downloadable free and use 10% grey exclusion. now with VSCO and lightroom, i dont need to and its easier too! i also like to take photos of my foods. Food photography. i love it but some nerds dont, he said "Its just food!" He's too nerd to enjoy food i guess. i think he rather see zeros and ones on the menu, matrix style. whatever.
and i get the habit to turn it into vsco....
i love doing portraits. did i say that already? ok... so
1. i love portraits
2. i love candid moments
3. i love fashion beauty photography
4. i'm interested in street photography
5. i'd like to do wedding photography
6. i will do food photography
All pictures above are taken with Fujifilm X100S.
my X-M1 is starting to collect dust by now.

Fuji X-M1 first photos.. back from the dead!
If you've been secretly following my blog, you know, my X-M1 just had a fatal accident the other day... this post ... it was dead.... the shutter did not work....but everything else is ok... so i thought this is gonna be just a video recorder.... but somehow after leaving it on the table for a week after taking out the battery and memory card, with a little pray, it works!
Its a miracle.... talk about craftsmanship... even though this sucker is made in thailand and china.... i guess it went coma for a week and now its alive and kicking..... here's a photo i took with it....
Color
B&W
not bad X-M1...
keep it alive...
New Telephoto Conversion Lens for X100S!
Wow boy am i excited?
Not sure why but i'm really looking forward for this telephoto lens. Must be my interest in beauty portraits or portraits in general. Been looking for cheap options on ebay but based on my research either they caused harsh vignetting or the quality is crap. It also made me drool over Fuji Xpro1 and 35mm lens.... and f1.4! thats yummy bokeh.... anyway, speaking of telephoto conversion, i've yet to try the wide angle ones but if the price is not too much i might consider the telephoto and forget the Xpro1 altogether.
