I finally sold my Leica M8...sob..sob..sob...
And the guy got it at a pretty good deal. Comes with handgrip and a free Jupiter 8 lens.
He said its for his wedding gift...awwww... that would be a pretty cool gift!
Leica is so sexy man....
But its just not for me...
Even how awesome it was to hold and take pictures with it.
I just struggle with manual focusing. Its fine actually but i just preferred auto focus.
Thats why i love my Fuji X100T.
Its no leica. its no rangefinder. but for the photos i took, it does make me smile.
To be honest because of my GAS issue, i want a black X100T too!! now call me crazy....
I also want a black Leica M8.2.
At this moment i just want a black rangefinder looking camera.
So sleek and sexy.
I sold my M8 so i can fund a new Fuji camera.
X70 not so much nowadays.
I am really into X-T1 vs X-T10. Both in silver.
For hundred dollars less, i should get the X-T10 but i just love how the graphite silver of the X-T1 look. Oooooohhhhh.
Decisions decisions
just another countless blog on the internet. I talk GAS, hobbies and try to make a career out of it.

18mm prime or 18mm - 55mm zoom?
Urgh.
i hate choices.
and i hate decisions.
i was already leaning towards the Fuji 18mm prime fast lens at f2, small and i love the square tin-look-alike hood. but after reading more and more reviews i came across the 18mm-55mm zoom. heard a lot of good things. someone or most of them even said it perform better than the 18mm prime, if u pixel peep that is. the zoom is also quite fast only a one-stop slow than the prime at f2.8. The name "kit" lens is misleading one said. Even the typical focal length 18-55 sounds cheap and plasticky like those Canon zooms but it was not. Almost all pros are liking it, using it in their professional work. Now that intrigues me. Do i get the prime or the zoom? i really hate it when im in this kind of situation. and what pissed me off more is that i'm always in this situation. silver or black? primes or zoom? x-pro1 or x-t1?
i always get into those decisions making situation. and i hate every bit of it. How i wish my em10 is silver but i got the black. i know its only aesthetic but i wear these cameras like it was my accessories. haha.
Anyway, back to the lens. If i take the zoom, i'll get a better performing lens (based on reviews), faster AF, i also get OIS which is really making the decision more harder, because i just love image stabilizer. and its versatile due to zoom. but i sacrifice the size of the smaller prime, maybe weight too, and the good looks hood. To be honest, i dont usually use too much zoom, i'd probably stay 18mm all the time but passing up on sharper image and faster af and OIS makes me in a difficult decision making situation. but making my camera longer in size also takes into consideration. but this but that. i have a trip to London coming and i need to decide which lens that i need. i dont really like big and long camera + lens combo. i love my x100s even with its hood on, i can put it in my bag seamlessly. which makes me leaning toward the prime. but its just a hard deal to pass this zoom lens. What are your thoughts?

X-T1 GAS mode.
Gaargh! Reading all these XT1 reviews on the internet make me wanna click buy it now on ebay. If i'm not going to London this summer i'd probably already made a purchase. need to save $$$ for the upcoming eurotrip that follows. Which also begs the question, should i bring my x100s or OMD? Do i need snappy or stunning ooc jpgs? Anyway i have a trip to Malaysia before London maybe i'll peek around and see whats their X-T1 offers/deals. But i want it now!! Argh!
just a thought....

...that new metal grip for Fuji X-T1 makes it look more like Nikon DF which is ultra sexy retro. More boxy, the way i like things. i like Nikon DF style except that its huge, pricey and its Nikon.Bwahahaha.

I need, I want, the WCL-X100
With the recent announcements of a tele-conversion lens now officially available for the X100S, now i have the luxury of having a wide, normal and zoom lens in one great camera! There's the wide conversion lens already available which equivalent to 28mm focal length, not so much wide in my opinion but wider than the 35mm, would be great if it was 24mm wide, now thats a very much difference! And now the recently announced tele conversion, which will make it at 50mm focal length, great for tight crop portraits!
Which ultimately make me ONLY need to have one camera.
No more buying gears.
Just get these 2 conversion lenses and i'm covered.
Thats pretty much focal length that i need for my kind of photography.
I dont have to drool over the X-T1 or the bad ass X-pro1.
But GAS is GAS.
So many toys to own.
So much money
After my previous post,
i do have a gut feeling that i'd be selling my Olympus OMD. GASP!
Its a great little camera, speed demon, great for candid photos but it just that my OCD will always kicks in. I will always pixel peep zooming in and out my OMD pictures. I'm just not happy with the noise that its JPEGs created. i know i'm crazy, i dont do large prints, its just that my OCD will always have that mindset that the OMD is not capable of doing very large prints. The noise is just not that clean to my eyes. i blame Fuji for that. Too fine quality. I might be wrong. Because i haven't prove it yet. But when will i be printing large banners for corporate ads? Right?? ironically, that picture of the x100s above is from my OMD EM10.
I still want to keep the Olympus but i'm no photographer pro. I dont make a living from photography, its still a hobby of mine, something i'm passionate about. i would love to go pro but yeahh ..not so at the moment.
Actually i'm out of my topic, suddenly the urge to rant is just stronger.
Actually i wanna talk about the WCL-X100.
I've been eyeing one on ebay, but i haven't pull the trigger.
I want it, i dont want it.
Next week, i want it. Next minute, i dont.
GAS is bad, but now after my OMD stint, i think i want to shoot Fuji exclusively.
I think i want the WCL and the new TCL................................. plus the X-T1 and the X-Pro1.
And be done with it.
Boom!

Fujifilm Singapore
And so i went to Fujifilm Singapore in Funan mall. because i am a Fujifilm fanboy.
They printed photos taken with Fuji X systems, i was blown away by quality... thats why i love Fuji.
And they put all their X series cameras in the middle of the showroom, for test purposes, the feel, the user handling, i think its a great move. now everyone can just walk in and test the camera, play around with it, felt in love with it!
This is where i fell in love more with the X-pro1..... before, i could only just look at xpro1 images on google but now i can feel it, how light it is, how great the experience was, i get to hold it, handle it, fire shots, play with the 35mm fitted to it.. oh man, that lens is a dream! ... , i really really want this camera added to my collection. For pro usage, i definitely gonna use the Xpro1 and X100S, my friend's engagement coming soon and i need to use this camera!
i'm only a lil bit put off with the price here, it still costs two grand singapore dollars, thats about USD$1600, i can get USD$300 cheaper on Ebay.
object of my desire
and guess what, hey hey hey heyyyyyy....
the X-T1 is here!
The much anticipated, hyped, talked about camera on the internet. and i get to feel it!
The EVF is definitely huge.
The grip is better here of course, but i would love it without grip! haha
Fuji give me a classic boxy camera, just a rectangle box, with a sharp triangle pentaprism, no grip, bad handling, classic lens, cos i need to feed my GAS. lol
its a fine fine fine camera the X-T1 but aesthetically i still love the X-pro1. i want the X-pro1. I need the X-pro1. i cannot wait for the X-pro2. i just have to have the X-pro1.
so i left the showroom with a pact that i must own an X-pro1.
thank you Fuji for the GAS you given me!
